Pet costs are one of the reasons families give up pets. Landlords who waive or reduce pet fees for renters who adopted from a shelter or rescue, or for low-income renters, earn the Fee-Friendly Landlord badge.

Waivers or reductions count toward our Low or no pet fees filter when they bring pet rent to $25 or less per pet and the one-time fee to $300 or less.

The badge is free. Just check the Fee-Friendly box on the listing form and describe your waiver or reduction, and we'll confirm the details with you before the badge goes live. You decide how to verify eligibility; we never ask renters to send us income documents.
